X-LAKE FOURM 2022

The 2022 X-Lake Forum was hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, with the Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission and the Nanshan District People's Government as organizers. It was held concurrently with the 24th China Hi-Tech Fair and marked the first national-level event in the science and education sector in Shenzhen after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

The forum opened on November 15, 2022, at the Shenzhen University City International Conference Center. This year's forum focused on the permanent theme of "Innovation and Sustainable Development," with the key themes of "Openness, Integration, and the Future." The event aimed to build an innovation system that closely integrates technology, education, industry, and finance. It featured one main forum, 13 parallel forums, and events like the X9 University and Research Institute Rowing League.

From X-Lake to the Metaverse, from the Bay Area to the world, the winds of technology and the ideas of innovation converge here at the "X-Lake Forum," where we move forward courageously toward the future of the science and education metaverse.

The design, employing a 23.45-degree tilt angle (based on Earth's rotation), showcases a grand and forward-looking vision of the surrounding universe, simple yet imaginative. The "X" is an abstract expression of Shenzhen's expansion globally, reflecting its core engine function and its strength in gathering global innovation resources. The gradually merging blocks symbolize the convergence of innovative wisdom from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, fostering a thriving science and education ecosystem in the Greater Bay Area, and embodying the inclusive spirit of the Xili Lake Forum. The expansion from a single point to a broader surface signifies starting from Shenzhen, integrating with Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and radiating globally. It promotes Shenzhen's open, diverse, and inclusive urban innovation culture, integrating into the global innovation network at a higher level and with a broader perspective. Benchmarking against the World Economic Forum, upholding integrity and innovation, and forging ahead with determination, it aims to create a globally influential science and education innovation platform, becoming a powerful supporting carrier for Shenzhen's construction of a pioneering demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
